Study shows link between menopause, diabetes

The experience of menopause in women is tough enough, with symptoms ranging from hot flashes to night sweats and mood changes. To make matters even more troublesome for some women, a study just released, led by Dr. Erin LeBlanc, a Kaiser Permanente researcher in Portland, reveals that women who begin menopause before age 46 or after age 55 have an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
