Researchers assess effects of beta-carotene fortified synbiotic food on type 2 diabetics

A synbiotic food fortified with beta-carotene may improve markers of inflammation and oxidative stress in people with type 2 diabetes, says a new study. “Beta-carotene fortified symbiotic food intake in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus for six weeks had favorable effects,” the researchers from Iran wrote in Clinical Nutrition .
