It is well understood that patients with type 2 diabetes are at an increased risk of cardiovascular events.1 Because of the impact these events have on morbidity and mortality, it is important for pharmacists and other health care providers to be aware of opportunities to address and reduce this risk. This article will share results from a recent clinical trial that showed an existing treatment added to the standard of care resulted in a significant reduction in the risk of CV death in patients with T2D and established CV disease.
