The choice between artificially sweetened and sugared soft drinks does not seem to make a difference in the onset of chronic conditions such as diabetes, according to Swedish research. The study found that drinking more than two daily 200ml servings more than doubled the chances of developing type 2 diabetes as well as latent autoimmune diabetes in adults -a form of diabetes that has a slower course of onset.
